Typewritten and bound transcript of an interview conducted by Lynn DeWitt for the Missionary Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 20 Sept. 1994. McConkie talks about his father, Oscar W McConkie (1887-1966). McConkie talks about his father's decision to send Mormon missionaries without purse or scrip in California. McConkie also tells about his own missionary experiences for the Mormon Church in New England where he also went without purse or scrip.
